I can't believe it that sis actually likes Peter Crouch (which she dearly calls 'Bittergourd'). More than half the England team are like good-looking guys and yet she finds Crouch cute. *laughs*

While I was sleep walking hastily(it's possible!) to the office, I saw 2 cheerful colleagues heading for breakfast. Smiling towards me, they were like, 'u look tired man, come join us for breakfast'. The temptation was so overwhelming that it woke me up from my semi-consciousness. They even informed me that my manager was not there yet.

Entering the lift, a few guys were holding waffles, steamy hot from the bakery one street away. Before I left, they were like 'enjoy the weekend' I was like 'yah, enjoy the waffles.'

Strolling towards my desk, the air was filled with ji chong fan. The culprit turned, I was like 'good morning, smells really good!' The reply came 'it's FRIDAY!'

Somehow I feel cheerful today... It's nice to spread the joy around.

Mummy's Shop

Never seen mummy so stressed and lost. So me and Xiao Jie Jie spent the entire day donig marketing, promotion. customer relationship and accounting. (kind of like a 'bao ga liao' role, haha)

Our effort paid off! Gross sales of $401.50. Not bad for a start man!

Peranakan dinner was great. I like it when the whole family can sit together for dinner.

ATC

We are the 3+1. (the 3 sport secs + one me).

Gosh! 7 plus hours of non-stop action! I believe it's the longest and most tiring challenge I had so far. The last time I remembered something so crazy was sports camp.

The Route
Ran from Tampanies to Pasir Ris, kayaked to Pulau Ubin, then cycled and waddled in the 'mud spa', river crossing, then kayaked back to Pasir Ris, run back to Tampanies, then run to Bedok then back to Tampanies.

The road was tough but what made it all worth while was the constant encouragment that never ceased from my fellow team mates (Huijing aka lao niang, Zhiwei e spiderman, Heng Kia son of tiong and supposedly first aider). As the sorching hot sun sapped our energy and munch mercilessly into our skins, they pushed me on the miles, letting me set the pace and holding me on towards the end. It was an amazing experience, the sense of achievement, friendship and all.

My legs feels like grass jelly now. Heh.

A great concept for a hangout. All sorts of board games here. It's amazing how the 7 of us can make such a hell out of those games.

East Coast Park
Gosh, can't believe that I actually woke up so early on a SAT morning. Was grumbling out of bed but realise that it was not that bad after all. Heh, the 3 sport secs did not try to 'kill' me. In the end, it was a nice run back and forth East Coast stretch. I like the morning breeze and sun on our faces.
Cycling then flying then cycling. Erm, spidey got a chance to show off his fast spidey moves while our 'first aider' got a chance to perform his medic skills (or should I say 'water pouring' abilities!).

I was so proud of little sis - seeing her dance on stage, doing the thing she is so passionate about.

Went to the New Man cover launch at Velvet. A paradise of hot babes I would say. Sexy Sywn on the cover page. That gal just gets hotter everytime I see her!

Saw Cheryl Tay, my all time favourite Ms Singapore. Think she's the best one so far -tall, gorgeous, and what I would classify as 'healthily pretty'.

The Jewel of the South China Sea

Now I truly understands why dad loves his old life on the island.
It's so peaceful, so tranquil, so out of the world.
I could swim with the fishes all day long, marvel at the beautiful corals, track in the forests, wake up to a morning of warm sunshine, the sounds of the waves and the cool mountain breeze.
It's like nothing mattered.
I like the clear, transparent, blue and green waters, I like it when i can twirl around the sand, I like to watch the sun peep out of the clouds in the early morning and then float on the luke warm water and see it set.
And when night falls, I'll lie on the shore and watch the shooting stars above me. There are also fireworks that lit up the sky.
Everyday is a brand new start, to discover new species of sea life. It's a whole new world under the sea.

I was glad to know Salim. In his eyes were the sparkle that I see in my dad's eyes when they tell me about their island. The same passion.
How I envy him...

We 'founded' our own small island "oo" (Joan's definition of an island: 'a patch of sand with a coconut tree on it'). We also kayaked to a bigger one. (sheryl's deepest darkest secret of trying to claim ownership of that one too. I shan't elaborate.)

Then there was uncle Sam, the most random living thing on earth(He pops up on us every now and then). But I have to admit that I appreciate him setting off boxes of fireworks right in front of us (Of which our dearest two gals started screaming, thinking that the fireworks are going to fall on them. We can't blame them, it was really that near!). The 10 to 15 mins of brillant splendour was short span, but truly breathtaking. (we actually have it for both the nights!)

There was also the equipment uncle and how our 'pathetic looks' won us the snorkels for one extra day. He was as happy as us when our sad looks transformed into wide smiles in a matter of seconds.

Everyone on the island knows everyone else. We could take things out of the shop without paying and return later. There was honesty, trust and communal living.

While i was up snorkelling on the surface, Salim could skin dive all the way down, under the rocks, alongside the fishes. Upon my request, he really taught us how to 'skin dive'. He had the weirdest look on his face when I told him that my parents think that scuba diving is dangerous and didn't allowed me to try it. When I called him a 'fish' (he really swims like one), he said I was from outer space. Indeed, we live in very different worlds.

Then there was this special leaf, (oops i forgot the name), that makes the goggles anti-fog. Tioman: (tio - a kind of bird of the mynah species, man - me).

I'm so glad for my babes. It's not easy to find fellow gal pals who are willing to hike with me in the forest to look for some river fall and endure desperate mosquitoes that bite even when we are walking, kayak for hours in the sea, do voluntary jetty jump and explore new islands to snorkel.

Blunders
Gun shots, footsteps, flying sunglasses, kittens, iguana, "first day nothing to do?", caught wandering around the forest, 3x upside down shirt, fly whacking, Mr Tioman.

Food
Over-toasted bread, giant prawns, our old time favourite biscuits with colourful sugar tops, ramly burger, Jack and Jill potato chips, peach sorbet white tea ice cream, yuan yang coffee tea, honey strawberry jam spread, gigantic ice kacang, refilled bottles and hot milo.

Sealife
Blue ring angel fish (our favourite), ikan bilis, black sea urchins, blue spotted sting ray, yellow tail baraccudas, parrotfish, nemo fish, dory fish, sea cucumber, soft corals, star, angel fish, pufferfish, stonefish, bubble coral, batfish, and many many other species.

Life on an island. Carefree and peaceful. My dream...

Despite a series of setbacks, not so good luck and several falls, we still did well. To think that Cheryl and I thought we were going for a relaxing ride.

This is the 2nd time I spent my bdae abroad. I was pretty sure that it was going to be like one of those bdaes which falls on the day of the maths 'o' level paper or 'a' level science prac paper.

I was sitting on the couch reading one of those aritcle from Henry Assel's 'great' book of marketing. Then Sunny just went pass me and arrogantly off the lights. I was like 'gosh' can't you see I'm trying to read here! Then Glenn happened to be at the door somehow and he went "I'm going to 3rd North" geekly in the dark. I was like ok... 2 weirdos.

Just then, the door opened with my cake and candles.

Thanks roomie, you made my day out here in NY city so heartwarming. I love the crumble cake you got for me, the brownie, the cute little card, the SKIRT (that I wanted so much) and the lovely puppy calender that is going to be in our hall room next yr. I was truly touched. *hugz*

To admit, I've been 'coping' food all the time. There are so many talks and the thing about Stern is that they always have free food. Roomie and I have been eating maggie with sausuages most of the time. It was such a great Korean meal I had on the night of the 12th! The traditional Korean BBQ was my first one. It was fabulous!

Thankz for all the well wishes. It nice to know that there are people in this world who remember and care. No amount of friends can compare to that.

To ya darlin, even if it's a short email, I'm just so happy already.

The first day of school has been great! though lesson lasted a mere one hour plus. There are like cute gals everywhere, the fashion, the look... wow. The students are really vocal here, to the extent that the lecuturer can't have everyone's opinion heard. The interactive culture here is so different from back home. And I like it!

OH here's my new apartment, nothing spectacular, but cosy though.

On the other hand, I'll embrace New York City with open arms, making the best out of it.

The few of us went back to HCI today.
The scenes were familar yet we are no longer in the picture anymore.
The teachers are the same yet their faces have grown more haggard.
(Mrs Tham was telling me how the new SPA system is killing the Science teachers and that it is nothing like the real SPA)

After chatting with Mrs Chua and Mrs Tham, guess it's not easy being teachers afterall. At least Mrs Chua has cute litte ah mu and ah ya to keep her life interesting. (Now that she doesn't have Ronald - not so sure about this one though.)

Had a heart to heart talk with Calvin and Sean. After which I came to the conclusion that it's impossible to ever 'get over' someone, so there's no point trying. We just have to get on with life that's all. And for now, being happy it's all that matters.

The Last Supper

I can still remember myself standing up at the ledge outside the lounge and staring down at the crowd below me. There were no familiar faces except for Renchun (vivdly recall him cheerly madly for me! my one and only ardent supporter down there!) and Dot.

I've never regretted that moment of rash to be the block rep. Through the process, I've got to know many people living around me. Guess my greatest reward is the friendship forged with ZW, Kevan, not forgetting my dearest roomie and Renchun (seems like he's our part time block rep who never fails to help out whenever possible). Zw's been a wonderful BLOCKHEAD, organising stuff, sending LONG emails and doing most of the work. However, in all, I think the 4 of us had our fair share of work, fun and memories throughout this time.

The last block supper went well. Zw carried most of the heavy stuff and basically refused to let me do the 'hard work'. He's the man man! Food was great. But some things beyond great food was more important.

It's Sheryl's last supper with us as well. She's been a caring and approachable councillor whom I always felt comforable communicating with. (hey Miao, she's also Sheryl Loh know) Gonna miss her.

Well, almost a year staying in Hall 9 already. The 'lau des' aka ah pehs have made me feel so like home. The senior citizen gatherings, those late night suppers, happening 'incidents'... were so amusing yet made me felt belonged in its own mysterious way. (da xiong, xiao xiong, jackson aka da niu 48 pres, zc aka xiao niu, bert aka my 'gan tie' and larry)

Wonder if things will ever be the same again. Some of those few people who I know truly care for me will be leaving.
Guess there's some things that are beyond my control. No point fretting, worrying or sheding tears. I don't dare to assume they will still care for me,like now, but would only hope that wherever they are, they still care.

I could understand what Sebestian was going through. I know it's hard for the GLs to
